Dear Friends,

Welcome to another edition of Sourcing Bali News. 

I must apologise for the lack of updates over the last year, the reason is simple, we've been busy!.  It's still no excuse, I will try to keep up to date this year and include more regular updates every quarter. 

So here we are in  Jan 2017, we have kicked the year off with a bang.  We're busy with new orders for the Caribbean, new orders for Fiji, New Zealand, Spain and we're working on some great private orders for Australia, US and others.  We are grateful for the terrific support.

In this edition of SBN, we bring you updates on recent projects, some new products that we've recently sourced, some updates on what's new at SB, and some general info on Bali.

Hurawalhi Resort Maldives

We were very proud to be support this stunning new, luxury resort in the Maldives.  This newest property was the third for the owners and shortly after the opening of this stunning resort in December 2016, they commenced work on their 4th.  

Once again we will be working with their designer to source unique elements for all guest villas and public spaces.  We look forward to sharing more news over the coming months.

Fiji - Ongoing projects

We have long enjoyed working with our many of our friends in Fiji.  In 2016, we had the pleasure of working with several resorts for their refurbishment programs after the effects of a serious cyclone. 

We give special thanks to Vomo Island Resort, Tokoriki, Liku Liku, Qamea, Malolo, Royal Davui and Tropica Island Resort for their special support during the year.

We are currently working on several new projects in the region and we look forward to bringing further updates shortly.

Menjangan Dynasty Resort

We were very proud to be asked to design and supply all furnishings, lighting and accessories for this stunning new tented 'GLAMPING' resort on Bali's north-west region of Menjangan. 

This 28-tent "Menjangan Dynasty Resor"t is the sister property to Bali Dynasty Resort in Kuta.  This new property features a stunning location set on the coast, adjacent to a magnificent reef.  The lobby, dining room, bar and dive centre are all designed from local bamboo,featuring beautiful and dramatic shapes.

Each tent includes thoughtfully designed furnishings resembling a safari theme.  Balconies provide sunset views over the bay, and some include private plunge pools.

Holidays

If you're planning a visit to Bali for sourcing and buying, please take extra care to avoid some upcoming holidays.  In particular, the period of late March to Mid-April will have several public holidays and extended ceremonies.

March 28 is the day of Silence "Nyepi:

April 4,5,6 is Galungan, and April 15th is Kuningan - A very special ceremony for the Balinese. 

Easter falls on Friday 14th of April and 24th April is the celebration of the Ascension of the prophet Muhammed.
