II / Vol 6 - February 2007 Sourcing Bali News

It is a pleasure to once again bring you the latest news from Sourcing Bali and our supplier partners.

In this addition, we bring you updates on Hospitality Essentials, new products that have been sourced since our last newletter, as well as reports on new projects and customer feedback.

We have started this year with bang, with many client visits in February and March as well as an ever increasing number of online orders from new and existing customers. Bali continues to be a strong source of building materials, furnishings, accessories and fashion items and we are proud to be able to assist in the promotion of small, local businesses and their products. We face steep competition from China, and Vietnam, however Bali continues to stay ahead of the game in terms of creativity, innovation, design, diversity, quality and flexibility.

Sourcing Bali is committed to keeping you informed of the very best and newest products and designs from Bali, and Java. If there is something that you are looking for that is not featured on our website, please let me know desmond@sourcing-bali.com - and we will be happy to assist.

We thank you for your ongoing support.

Warmest regards
Desmond & Crew

New Regulations - exporting stone

The Indonesian Government has appointed Sucofindo as the surveying company to conduct inspections of all natural stones for export. Sucofindo will inspect  the suppliers's paper work permits to sell those products. If everything is ok, Sucofindo will issue a surveyor report. This surveyor report will become one of the export documents that will be sent to the consignee.

To do this job, sucofindo charges as follow :
1. If all goods in the container are stone materials and all  need to be surveyed / inspected, the charge will be :
        USD. 80 / 20' container
        USD. 95 / 40' container

2. If only part of container (whether  a 40', a 20' or LCL) has stone materials that need to be surveyed, the charge
    will be USD. 55.00

Some recent comments from some of our customers >>>>

" Furniture arrived at 12pm Friday.WOW, fantastic job!!!! Well packed and rec’d in excellent condition.  I have attached some before and after photos, this refit was completed in 12 days. Thanks for everything, you have been fantastic!!!!! "
( Wayne & Kate - Perth, Australia )

" We had no dramas with quarantine and this was the best packed container yet. Total freight cost was down to 65% of goods value, so a great result. This means we can sell day beds etc a lot cheaper and turn over more goods. We have not yet unpacked everything but furniture is attracting a lot of attention. Tell Rim Cargo the stones on pallets made it a very easy task to unload container and looks like everything arrived in one piece (as usual)!! Thank you!! "
( Jens Arnold - Brisbane, Australia )

" Everything arrived safely and has been so well packed - After being so impressed with sourcing bali and your amazing efforts I now learn that RIM Cargo is up to the same standard.  I look forward to getting a proper order in in due course.  Not a single thing was damaged and everything looks great."
( Jacintha Peeris - Paris, France )

" We have now picked up the last of the container and are starting to get the products unpacked and in the shop.  We would like to let you and the staff at Rim Cargo to know that we are very impressed with the way our goods have been packed and so far there has been no damage.  Thankyou."
