We are again proud to bring you the latest news from Sourcing Bali and our supplier partners.

In this issue, we give you an update on RIM CARGO - now fully operational, with a new team of 17 and a fleet of new trucks.

We are also pleased to present a new range of products to the website - including lamps, mirrors and a great new range of woven rugs. Our NEW PRODUCTS section features all newly updated items. Be sure to visit this section for the latest of products from Bali.

We say a warm welcome to our new clients (Jane from UK, Bryce and Ron, Vijay, Chip and Mac, Ed Butler) as well as a special thanks to Debbie C for her great support. We look forward to working with you over the coming months.

Sadly, the island is quiet, with only a handful of tourist arrivals. We would like to say thank you to everyone who continues to support us and our suppliers with orders.

Meet the new crew at RIM CARGO

We are very proud to introduce the team at RIM CARGO - sister company to Sourcing Bali. RIM will be handling all of the freight forwarding needs of Sourcing Bali as well as external customers.

Adhering to our high standards of operations and packing, the new crew at RIM will ensure the safe and proper handling of your goods. Our new 1200 sqm warehouse is already 50% full, and the team is busy with container loading and packing.

We continue to negotiate rates with shipping lines to offer the BEST shipping rates as well as competitive local handling charges. We GUARANTEE the most competitive rates around.

Ramla Bay - Malta

We were delighted to receive these great images from the recently refurbished RAMLA BAY resort in Malta. Sourcing Bali supplied all of the knock down buildings as shown, as well as many structural and architectural details for this refurbishment.

Public Holidays

Please be aware when planning your buying trips, March, April and May have many, many holidays. Please let us know as much in advance as possible so that we can best advise you of suitable dates for your buying trip.

April 14th - Good Friday / Easter
May 4th to 7th - Galungan (The celebration of Good over Evil)

May 13 & 14th - Kuningan (The end of the ceremony for the battle of good over evil)
May 25th - Ascension Day of Jesus Christ

Many of the big suppliers are closed over these dates. Our offices including RIM CARGO are also closed.

Promotions

We are very proud to announce the promotions of Sheny Chiang and Robert Sitanggang to Co-Directors of Sourcing Bali.

Both Sheny and Robert have contributed significantly to the success of the company over the past three years, and I would like to thank them both for their tremendous efforts and dedication.

Foreign Exchange

The Rupiah continues to change daily, with current trading at Rp9100 to the US$1 (Was Rp9400 at the time of last newsletter) Be sure to check with Sheny for the trading rates at the time of invoicing.

Bank of Indonesia predicts the Rupiah to strengthen to Rp8800 in the next 4-6 months.

Donations required

We would like to call on your support to help with the planned Basket Ball Court at Panti Asuhan Salam - Tabanan. We have received generous donations from Jane Cartwright - UK, and Paul McKimm - NZ and we welcome further donations.

We hope to commence the construction in the next month or so - and we are far, far short of our target of Rp50.000.000 (Fifty million)

Happy Birthday Nyoman and Made !!

February 28th was the birthday of Nyoman and Made - Nyoman and his family have been sponsored by Sourcing Bali for the past 6 years. Sourcing Bali sponsored a birthday party for him and his brother and all the kids at the special needs school.

We hope, in another 6 years or so, Nyoman and Made will be ready to join the crew at Sourcing Bali. With Nyoman's flair for maths, he maybe assisting Sheny in the accounts department. Wayan Jack, their older brother has been with Sourcing Bali for the last 2 years.
