In this edition of the Sourcing Bali News - we bring you details of new records for Sourcing Bali - more product updates, new projects and news of the team.

We once again take this opportunity to thank you for your wonderful ongoing support.

Warmest regards

New Products - Record Numbers

Special thanks to Yogi for his great work in uploading over 200 new products since the last edition of Sourcing Bali News.   This month, we see new designs of sun loungers, bamboo furniture, and some exciting new mosaics. PLUS, we'll shortly be loading a new range of mother of pearl and silver jewelry.

Customers can view the latest products on our website www.sourcing-bali.com   NEW PRODUCTS - click at the top right hand side of the home page.

20 Containers - A New Record

The packing and QC crew had a busy March / April, with a record number of 36 containers being loaded.   (20 for April)

Containers have been sent to all corners of the globe, covering all continents.  (Asia, Africa, Middle East, Australia, Pacific, Europe, North and South America !)

Thankfully, things quieten down this month, giving a well earned rest for the crew at our packing facility and Nusa Trans cargo.

ALiLa Living - Ubud

We were proud to be appointed as shopfitters and suppliers to the third ALiLa Living store - this time at ALiLa Ubud.

One month ahead of schedule, and with the help of a crew of 8 Sourcing Bali staff, the new installation took just over 7 hours, and was very warmly welcomed by management and staff.

Designed and created by Sourcing Bali - the fitout for the store included a revamp of existing fixtures, plus exciting new freestanding displays and point of sale materials.

The product range was selected by the Sourcing Bali crew from our wide range of preferred suppliers and manufacturers.  The new look offers an exciting, modern and desirable choice of gift items.

Farewell Bali - Hello Taveuni

April saw the farewell of 7 containers to Taveuni Island Resort Fiji.  This 20-year-old boutique resort has been internationally acclaimed as one of the best boutique hotels in Fiji and we were proud to be associated with it's refurbishment programme.

The selected designs were from a collaboration with Sourcing Bali and the owners / operators of the resort - the results will be spectacular and include coconut inlay for the bedroom furnishings, dramatic glass and granite bathroom vanities and contemporary pool-side loungers.

Scheduled to re-open in late June with an additional five new bures (gazebos), this beautiful resort promises to remain one of Fiji's best boutique-style resorts.

Malta - New projects

We were very proud to receive confirmation of orders for three new hotel projects in Malta.  These projects have been on the back burner since mid-2004 and a recent buying trip confirmed the orders.

Sourcing Bali will be supplying Balinese style 'bale' (Gazebos) for three open air restaurants at the Ramla Bay Resort, plus all fixtures and fittings for these areas, as well as supplying all gift shop merchandise and display materials.

We have also been appointed to supply outdoor furniture for Le Meridien and Maratim Resorts, Malta.

Special thanks to Robert Sitanggang for his hard efforts over the past six months in securing this business.  We look forward to sharing photos of the projects once they are completed later in the year.

Fiji Direct - Consolidated Shipments

Commencing in May, 2005 - in conjunction with Nusa Trans Freight Forwarders and Williams & Gosling (Fiji) - Sourcing Bali will be operating monthly consolidated shipping services to Fiji for our customers in Fiji.

Services will be to Lautoka on the western side of the main island, and to Suva - the capital on the eastern side.  Shipments are especially designed for businesses (and personal orders) which might require less than 10 cubic metres.

Sourcing Bali Turns 4

There is much to celebrate this month, with the 4th anniversary of Sourcing Bali.  From its humble beginnings in the 2nd bedroom of Desmond's home, to the two storey offices at Kerobokan, Sourcing Bali has seen many changes and much growth.

We would like to thank you all for your incredible support over these past years. We are proud to say that we have had many of our customers with us since the beginning, and we look forward to many more wonderful years ahead.

The Sourcing Bali Crew is now 38 in number - together with spouses and kids, we make up 100+.  Needless to say, the party on May 28th will be a banger!   We'll be sure to send you photos in the next edition of Sourcing Bali news.

Community Care

As part of our ongoing commitment to the local community, Sourcing Bali sponsored some supplies for YPAC (Yayasan Panti Anak Catak - School for the mentally and physically disabled).  These included 12 sets of English / Indonesian dictionaries, world globes, 4 storage cupboards for classrooms and 160kg of steel weights for the weightlifting machine.

Two of the kids from the school have entered into the country-wide competition for weightlifting - if successful, they will represent Indonesia in the Asian competitions.

Last year saw Vincent, Made and Dian win over 7 medals in the regional trials.

You can help Sourcing Bali with our Community Care efforts - ensuring that funds get directly to the needy.  For more information visit our website or email desmond@sourcing-bali.com
